the Observer Test finished! |
you chose BZ - your Enneagram type is FIVE.
"I need to understand the world"
Observers have a need for knowledge and are introverted, curious, analytical, and insightful.
How to Get Along with Me
- Be independent, not clingy.
- Speak in a straightforward and brief manner.
- I need time alone to process my feelings and thoughts.
- Remember that If I seem aloof, distant, or arrogant, it may be that I am feeling uncomfortable.
- Make me feel welcome, but not too intensely, or I might doubt your sincerity.
- If I become irritated when I have to repeat things, it may be because it was such an effort to get my thoughts out in the first place.
- don't come on like a bulldozer.
- Help me to avoid my pet peeves: big parties, other people's loud music, overdone emotions, and intrusions on my privacy.
What I Like About Being a Five
- standing back and viewing life objectively
- coming to a thorough understanding; perceiving causes and effects
- my sense of integrity: doing what I think is right and not being influenced by social pressure
- not being caught up in material possessions and status
- being calm in a crisis
What's Hard About Being a Five
- being slow to put my knowledge and insights out in the world
- feeling bad when I act defensive or like a know-it-all
- being pressured to be with people when I don't want to be
- watching others with better social skills, but less intelligence or technical skill, do better professionally
Fives as Children Often
- spend a lot of time alone reading, making collections, and so on
- have a few special friends rather than many
- are very bright and curious and do well in school
- have independent minds and often question their parents and teachers
- watch events from a detached point of view, gathering information
- assume a poker face in order not to look afraid
- are sensitive; avoid interpersonal conflict
- feel intruded upon and controlled and/or ignored and neglected
Fives as Parents
- are often kind, perceptive, and devoted
- are sometimes authoritarian and demanding
- may expect more intellectual achievement than is developmentally appropriate
- may be intolerant of their children expressing strong emotions

Sirius'ly
Wow, so I've already had Sirius Satellite radio for a month and I just can't get enough of it. For anyone out there that is thinking about getting it I say go ahead, for about $13 a month it is a great investment. I have not listened to regular radio since (aside from when I deliver stuff for work). It has everything you could ever want. There is so many music stations that it is almost impossible at any given moment to not find a song or artist that you enjoy listening too. The no commercials thing is a bonus as well. You can also have it store artist names or song titles to memory and the receiver will alert you when a station is playing that artist or song. Very cool. The newer receivers also have a TiVo like feature built in where you can pause it and rewind, fastforward, etc. The main reason I picked it up was because Howard Stern was making his home there, and I must say his show is about 10x better than it was when he was on regular radio. He also brought with him a very talented guy from Florida which you may have heard of, Bubba the Love Sponge. Kind of a weird name but this guy is awsome, his show is a riot. ( www.btls.com ) Back when the whole Janet JAckson thing happened, within a couple of days one of the major radio companies out there, Clear Channel, fired Bubba and Howard from all of their stations. The two major radio companies are Clear Channel and Infinity Broadcasting which is a division of Viacom I think. Anyway Bubba got fired from his station which was Clear Channel owned and Howard got booted off of every Clear Channel owned station that syndicated him. However most of his markets were all owned by Infinity so he was able to continue broadcasting. Bubba's career was basically over, he got black balled from ever getting a job in regular radio again. Around that time Bubba and Howard were competitors so neither of them had any good things to say about each other. After Howard announced that he was moving to satellite he started looking into getting Bubba's show back together. Now they have teamed up and have created a force that has Clear Channel, Infinity, and XM Satellite radio shaking in their boots. So much so that Infinity changed their whole format and their talk stations around the country are all referred to as "Free FM" indicating that you don't have to pay to listen to it. So much so that XM purchased advertising during a showing of Stern's movie Private Parts on tv. Trust me people even if you don't like Howard or Bubba, Sirius is the way of the future and it is well worth the $13 a month. Current Mood: pleased | | Thursday, December 22nd, 2005 | | 11:23 pm |
Clammed Up
Man, what a horrible day I had yesterday. First off I had finals this week. I had three on Tuesday and I was supposed to have one yesterday. However, only hours after watching the season finale of Nip/Tuck Tuesday night I woke up and tossed my cookies over the side of my bed. Tomato soup, left a wonderful stain. This was at about 4:45 am and I spent about 1 and a half hours trying to clean the stain which was very unpleasant for me. Especially since I kept puking every 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I'd catch maybe 10 minutes of sleep between pukes but really I got like no sleep. This continued until about 11:50 am. I managed to get a hold of my professor and ask if I could make up the exam which he had absolutely no problem with, which is very cool because most professors would probably be a huge dick about it. So around 11:50 am I puked for the last time but I still felt like shit the rest of the day (body aches, chills, nausea). So last night while everyone was enjoying cookies over at Ashlee's I was chilling here and doing a little research online to figure out what kind of affliction I had stumbled upon. I figured it was one of 2 things, the flu, or food poisoning. I started looking up food poisoning and I found a type of food poisoning that caught my attention. A form of food poisoning called Norovirus (read up on it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwalk_virus). What grabbed my attention was not just the symptoms, to which I pretty much had all of them, but what causes it. Undercooked shellfish. Ben Omell, if you are reading this you will really love this one. I just so happened to have eaten some fried clams earlier in the day, from fuckin White Castle... fuckin sick... After reading that and putting two and two together I was pretty much 99% sure that that is where I got it from. Moral of the story, fuck White Castle. Anyway I rescheduled my final for tomorrow, Friday, and I feel a lot better today. I am however really bummed that I didn't get a chance to hang out at Ashlee's yesterday. Anyway, have a Merry Christmas everyone, and stay away from disgusting White Castle... p.s. check out www.godtower.com Current Mood: nauseatedCurrent Music: none | | Wednesday, December 7th, 2005 | | 11:46 pm |
Hey now!
The countdown begins folks. 32 days till the first Stern satellite radio broadcast! I know I will be there, will you? It marks a new era of radio, a radio that I have been about for a while now. Censorship blows and it really has no real function other than to violate our right to choose, our right to free speech. Within a week after Christmas I will be purchasing my receiver and the package, and saying goodbye to the good old FM band. Current Mood: anxious | | Tuesday, November 29th, 2005 | | 11:39 pm |
The past week in review...
This whole past week has been kind of crazy. Last Monday night/Tuesday morning I froze my nuts off outside a Best Buy in Pontiac trying to get my hands on an Xbox 360. Needless to say I have one but I am now short a pair of nuts... Very cool system though I might add. Thursday I stayed with Ally and got boozed up a bit. The rest of the weekend I pretty much lounged around and got a ton of sleep. I haven't slept for 10 hours in a long time. It felt good to actually get a lot of sleep, seeing as I usually deprive myself of it. Sunday I realized I got the part I needed to put in my remote starter. I was very excited and proceeded to jump right in. I fucked around for like an hour or so trying to figure out where I make the damn connections before I gave up. I had a test probe. It's used to test if wires have a current going through them or not. I basically jerry rigged it to a power outlet and when I located the wires I thought I needed I wasn't getting any signals through them. This really threw me and I ended up giving up. When I thought about it later that night I realized I probably should have hooked it up to a power source in the car since I'm testing the wires in the car, which isn't easy. It involves locating a constant 12v power supply wire, stripping back some of the coating and connecting the test probe to it. So last night around 11:30 I got to work. Hooked the probe up to a power source in the car and proceeded to locate every wire I needed to complete this installation. What a bitch the whole thing was. The wires I needed to work with needed to be stripped and I had about 2-3 inches to work with, with about 9 other wires crowding the same area. Thing took me about 4-5 hours to rig up. However there is still some cleanup work I need to do, such as mounting the thing and routing all the wires to a safe and unseen location. The thing worked flawlessly on the first try. So it will definately be a cool thing to have when it starts snowing more... School is kind of kicking my ass right now, it is crunch time and I'm beginning to get lots of homework and assignments. I'll be glad when this semester is over with... Current Mood: accomplishedCurrent Music: Sending Postcards from a Plane - Fallout Boy | | Friday, August 26th, 2005 | | 12:14 am |

You know, this whole vendetta that these idiot politicians have against videogames is ridiculous. Yesterday Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was given a rating of AO (Adults Only). What does this mean? It means the game has been yanked from the shelves pretty much anywhere. You probably won't be able to rent it either because retailers are too pussy to carry AO games. Fuckin bullshit. What is with this pussification of America where every goddamn fucking thing has to be toned down and censored. This journal is my only sacred place where they can't touch me. Why do people stand for such utter bullshit. Videogames don't mean shit you assholes, waste your resources on something else for christ's sake. Look, people have been brutally murdering each other since the beggining of time. It sure as hell wasn't brought about by TV, movies, videogames, or music for that matter. They are taking away freedoms left and right, FUCK THAT SHIT! Sure you might say them making it an AO game doesn't affect me, but it's the principal of the whole thing. Let me break it down. In the movie world we have G(general audiences), PG(parental guidance) , PG-13(13 years of age and older), R(restricted 17+), NC-17(18+), and X(I'm guessing 18+ again kind of redundant). The equivalent in the videogame world is E(everyone), E+10(everyone 10 and older), T(teen), MA(mature audience), and AO(adult only). Last but not least in TV we got TV G(general), TV PG(parental guidance), TV 14(14 and older), and TV MA(mature audiences). Alright, now that that is over with let me start putting some shit into perspective. A movie that is released in theaters with a PG-13 rating starts showing up on primetime tv a few years later, edited of course, with a new rating of TV 14. So what this means is at age 13 I can go see this movie, but then it shows up on primetime TV and now my parents shouldn't let me see a watered down edited version because I'm not 14 yet. Very contradictory if you ask me, sounds like bullshit as well, but wait it gets better. Lets take a look at videogames now, most notibly GTA: San Andreas as mentioned above. What does this game have to offer? A lot. Lets see they crossed over the language barrier, which I'm proud of some one had to take a giant step over that line and I'm glad it was them. So what though, that shouldn't give it an AO rating because the movie Casino is about 30x worse, with a R rating which is the exact equivalent of a MA rating on a videogame. What else does this game offer? "Realistic violence". Ok, get a life. Seriously. Counterstrike has more realistic violence than this game. This game is very unrealistic and I'll give some reasons why. First off the models are very boxy, especially characters other than the main guy, where counterstrikes models look and act very realistic. Secondly, I can't walk into a gun shop and purchase an AK 47. Third, one bullet to some ones head won't blow it off. Fourth, no one would let you walk up to their vehicle and steal it. I could go on, but I'll jump to the next portion. Sex. Gee what rated R movie nowadays doesn't show a pair of titties or ass on screen. It's rare to find one that doesn't. How many videogames do you know of that show these. Well GTA: SA for one but you have to edit the game in order for it happen. You know, this sounds exactly like another game I know of. A very popular game called the Sims. That's right. You can download a patch and it won't blur your sims when they hop in the shower or take a shit. You know what, this game is rated T for teen. From what I've heard with the latest Leisure Suit Larry game, you can change a 1 to a zero in a file and it will remove all censor bars in the game, a game where the whole object is to get the guy laid. Rated M for mature. Everyone is aware of a movie called Basic Instinct in which Sharon Stone flashes her poonaner, rated R. Or how about A Clockwork Orange? An old movie, cause a big controversy. If memory serves there was some vag in it as well. Also rated R. The kind of sex we are talking about in San Andreas is some sort of pseudo fucking because the dudes clothes are on. Plus like I said before this is not a normal part of the game, but it somehow caused it to get a AO rating. What a fucked up system we have. The pussification of America. Stripping us of our freedoms everyday. Current Mood: eat my shitCurrent Music: none | | Sunday, June 5th, 2005 | | 11:30 pm |
So I'm a few weeks into my summer class and it is ok so far. Just have a lot of shit to get done in it before July 28th. Seems far away, but the class is already like 20% over. I had a harddrive take a shit on me a few weeks ago, which really sucked. I ended up having to use an old harddrive to be able to access the data on the faulty one. Needless to say I was able to backup what I needed, but it was still a major pain in the ass. Hmmm what else... Went to Meridian mall yesterday with Ally. It was pretty cool. I enjoyed the Schuler Book Store. Also went to Cedar Point the other day and had a lot of fun. What a great day too. It was nice out but it wasn't overly hot. Not to mention the lines were pretty short. I hate how there isn't anything on tv in the summertime... Words may never hurt me
You know what disturbs me? The FCC. What a bullshit commission... Everything you hear/see on the radio and tv is broadcast on what they call the "people's airwaves". What a load of shit. The airwaves are more regulated than guns are. In 2003, over 350,000 crimes involved firearms. How many people died last year as a result of Janet Jackson's breast on the super bowl? Last I heard not a single person... All I ever hear gun owners say is "2nd amendment says I have the right to bear arms and you can't tell me otherwise." Well the first amendment gives me the right to yell a fuck you in return, killing a total of 0 people in the process. I'm not saying people shouldn't have the right to bear arms, I'm just saying if you're going to bring in the 2nd amendment to help you with your cause, which takes peoples lives, then please remember we have a first amendment that lets me have the right to say what I want. We also have the right to turn off whatever we don't want to listen to on the radio or to see on tv. Are we not trusted to turn off what we don't want to hear?! Why in the world is it regulated, especially regulated by people we don't even elect. These people are appointed, and there isn't even some sort of standard that states what is or what isn't indecent. Over the summer Oprah had some one on her show describing what tossing a salad meant. Her whole segment was broadcast unedited. At the same time, Howard Stern, played the same exact clip from the Oprah Winfrey show and almost the whole clip got cut. After that Howard urged all his listeners to complain to the FCC about the Oprah Winfrey clip being broadcast on television, and later got a response that said they can't fine Oprah because she is "beloved". What kind of hypocrisy is that? What a fuckin double standard. It's bullshit, and I don't know how people can stand for it. It's simple, you don't want to hear people swear or talk about sex, or anything like that, you tune into something else. We as Americans have to make a simple concept so difficult. Give the people's airwaves back to the people. Current Mood: irritated | | Saturday, February 12th, 2005 | | 1:35 am |

Acoustic dreams
So I'm getting a guitar Friday. Allbeit a very cheap/low quality one. I just don't know how much of an interest I will take in it, as of now I'm quite excited. Plus I'm not sure how easy I'll be able to catch on to it. I need some suggestions, ways to kind of self teach myself. If anyone could recommend a good for me to get that'd be awsome. Hell even a good website to look at would be cool. I'm pretty anxious to learn. Current Mood: cheerfulCurrent Music: Stevie Wonder | | Thursday, January 6th, 2005 | | 12:05 am |
Give me a Brake...
So I got in an accident today. Very sweet... Thanks to these assholes that do one of the things that pisses me off the most while I'm driving, pulling right out in front of me when what do you know, no one is behind me. I can't comprehend why people do this. I'm going along on Owen road, and a Rendevous pulls out in front of me, which wasn't too bad because she got up to speed very quickly. Then seconds later a truck pulls out in front of her. She was closer to the truck when it pulled out in front of her than I was to her when she pulled out in front of me. So the truck starts losing control a bit trying to get up to speed, which at the time was about 35mph. So the truck slides around a bit then steps on the brake, then the Rendevous slams on her brakes almost instantly coming to a stop, so I slam on mine, and what happens? I just slide about 30 feet or so right into the Rendevous... Thank You very much, I hope you got to your destination quicker you fucker that was in the truck, because I sure the fuck didn't. Thanks a lot you prick... This is a big FUCK YOU to you. Current Mood: angry | | Wednesday, December 29th, 2004 | | 12:50 am |
Smokin the green
Ya know, I was wondering today. Ever notice those marijuana commercials? The one that's like "you forgot to pick up your brother because you were smoking pot." or even the one where the kid steals the grandma's money to buy pot, and feels bad about it later. Very wierd drug commercials. It got me thinking, there aren't really any bad side effects of smoking pot. People don't usually die from it, it's not like alcohol where it distorts your perception, in fact it's probably better for you than cigarettes are. Whats the big fuss? The worst thing they could come up with for smoking pot was stealing money to buy it (because it is illegal for whatever reason) and forgetting to pick up your brother from school. How often do those situations even occur to begin with? The fact is the commercial isn't showing you families that had a son/daughter that died from pot, like almost every other drug or alcohol commercial out there. Nope, the worst side effect they could find for it was stealing grandma's money and forgetting about your brother, oh yea don't forget the kid that didn't want to go to his brother's birthday party because he wanted to clam bake as well. Ironically, asside from the stealing grandma's money commercial the other two commercials dealt with black families (trying to stereotype something here?) Maybe they didn't want to do the grandma commercial with a black family because they wanted to sterotype that a black grandma doesn't have any money anyways, who knows. Anyway take a look at the truth.com cigarette commercials. Some of those are brutal, yet we see nothing like that for marijuana. I'm not a smoker of anything, but I find this shit appalling. Am I the only one here? Watch out grandma I'm going to steal your money to buy pot, and forget to pick my brother up and take him to his birthday party. You know what makes me smile? When I see a nice big 4-wheel drive truck sitting in the ditch. These people drive around like they are untouchable Gods. They think because they have 4 wheel drive that they are safe from the snow, and drive too unsafe for conditions. I always get a nice warm, fuzzy feeling inside when I see one of these pricks caught up in a ditch, serves them right. Current Mood: bored |
